Holly was watering her blueberries when all the sudden a gust of wind came and crraacckkk a blueberry broke off the branch. It went bouncing all the way through the lanes until smack! It ran right into another watering can. A pesky raccoon came from the woods and knocked over the watering can. Water rushed out on top of it. It grew and grew and grew! By the time Holly got there it was almost as big as the famous mansion, which was four stories high, next door.
Suddenly it began to roll all the way to the front door of the mansion where six children, whose names were Hannah Henry, Halina Andy, Ann Marie, Anna, and two adults, were sleeping. Then wham! A big hole with a blueish/purplish splinters there. It went all the way to the youngest child’s room.
She woke up and looked at it. Seeing the pointed bluish/purplish crown she jumped on it. Suddenly vines appeared and they made a seat and reins so that she could ride it. Wham! Wham! Wham! Wham! Wham! Wham! Wham! She steered all the way to her sister’s room. Unfortunately it had taken her a while to steer. For piles of clay bricks were left behind. Her sister jumped on and said to her ‘Anna, go to the playroom! So she did with Hannah still with her. When they got there they had been screeching for ten min. They were bumping into at least ten servants, making them faint. Anna and Hannah went in the room and jumped on the blueberry like it was a trampoline until all the other children came with Holly who joined the fun. The parents came in and found they were all stained with a purplish/bluish juice. After they all toke baths Holly went home. From that day on the children played with Holly by the blueberries.

Lilly Ann a 12 year old fairy lived in Waterfall Valley just below Moss Kanipy. Her mom was secretary of Slivera the Blue Fairy. Slivera was the guard of the Blue power source. The Blue power source is what keeps everything blue blue. If the source was stolen it would turn everything blue a sickly pink-orange. That was everything Slivera taught her.
Lily Ann loves water she plays in it all the time. She fly’s up to Kendra a 12year old fairy who lives in Moss Kanipy. One day she tells her great news.’’Katie the Green Fairy selected me as the next Green Fairy!’’ said Kendra. Lily Ann was amased. She always wanted to be the Blue Fairy. When she flew home Silvera told her she was the next Blue Fairy. She decided Olivia would help her. When news got to Evil Cati, Maryziz was angry for she wanted her daughter Zio to be the next Blue Fairy. But she was evil and everyone knew it. No one would elect Zio.
Meghan
From moonlight a fairy flew over Lilinma. Meghan was the guardian fairy who watched over Lilinma. Then Meghan heard danger coming. She quickly transformed and sent a signal for all the guardians to come and fight their biggest enemy Gourtner. Meghan then tries to stop him on her own until the others get there. Sunlight stick! All of the sudden a stick began to appear with what looks like a sun on top. Sunlight go! Rays shot out of the sun on the stick and attacked Gourtner. Then Gourtner attacked using a deadly arrow. Meghan quickly dodged it but there was a whole sky full of them so by the time just 1 of the guardians got there Meghan had dodged least 2 dozen of those arrows. She and the other guardian fought for at least an hour because the guardian bought a message to Meghan saying that Gourtner had captured all the rest. When they were close to 2 hours Meghan attacked from behind killing Gourtner. At that moment Meghan was lifted into the air and she got more power on her magic. Everyone who was captured by him became free. From now on Meghan had nothing to fear until next time…
Kanga the Kangaroo was born with a rainbow tattoo that meant she was meant for jumping. When Kanga was older started to jump and look at the tattoo every day. Kanga lived a happy life until people started to avoid her. She never knew why but her parents did. Kanga was way to jumpy. But Kanga never found out.
One day during recess at school Kanga was practicing her high jump. She asked Belle the Bunny to watch her. Whoosh! Kanga goes up in the air. Whoosh! Kanga does a “high tech” twirl. When she’s about to land she heard a scream from Belle. Kanga looked where Belle was and ‘’asked you all right?”
”After you almost land on me you ask am I all right?” “Well, here’s your answer; NO!” screamed Belle. Kanga then realized her jump was a little dangerous so she stopped doing it.
After that incident Kanga decided to stick with jump rope. Bella the Butterfly was doing races from tree to tree in the air while Kanga was jumping rope. Bella was in the air, Wham! Bella’s arm hit Kanga’s head. Bella fell right by Belle. When Belle saw what Kanga did she said, “First you almost hit me and now you hit Bella?!! Shame on you!” With that she carried Bella over to the nurse’s office. Kanga was puzzled .The rainbow tattoo meant she was made for jumping. Then she decided she should just quit jumping.
On the way home from school when no one was looking she started to jump all the way to her house. When she was doing her “ high tech” jump she landed right on this boy. Then Belle and Bella came up. “You stopped him, Kanga! He took all our stuff! Also I’m sorry for what I said it was wrong,” said Belle. Once they got all their stuff back they went to Kanga’s house to have raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries.
So Kanga finally realized that sometimes people wanted her to jump. And sometimes people didn’t want her to jump. But from now on no one yelled at her.
People try to recycle things such as bauxite ore, paper, and tin. But, they may wonder why. You can save plenty of money and resources by recycling. Recycling helps reduce landfill space and disposal costs.
Recycling is the separation and collection of materials for processing and remanufacturing into new products. It is also braking down items into raw materials to be used again. Most people think of it as making trash into something usable. When you recycle you reduce the amount of unnecessary packaging. Families reuse bags, containers, and other items. They also buy recyclable products and containers and recycle them. Lastly, they buy products made from recycled materials. These all are different ways of recycling.
Some people wonder why we recycle. Well, recycling helps to reduce landfill space and disposal costs. US-tax payers are charged with at least $ 500 million every year to pick up trash along highways. If you recycle one run of the Sunday New York Times, 75,000 trees would be saved. When you recycle paper, 60% of the water normally needed in paper manufacturing is saved. Manufacturing products from recycled paper reduces water pollution by 35% and air pollutants by 73%. Recycling paper saves 70% of the energy needed to create paper from new timber. If you recycle steel, there is 40% of water savings. Making new steel from old scrap offers up to 75% energy savings. Producing aluminum from scrap instead of bauxite ore cuts energy by 95%.
Most people think recycling is easy, but you have to know what can be recycled. Once you know what can be recycled, you can take the products to an appropriate place to recycle. Most recycling takes place at a company where it’s done automatically. Before the company can recycle, they have to sort them. They separate useful items from the rest of the garbage. One thing you should know is that you compost food scraps not recycle them. If you mix food scraps, and give it to the worms to eat they’ll make dirt for you can use. Before the company can recycle the materials, they have to sort them. They separate useful items from the rest of the garbage.
People wonder what they can recycle. Well, here are some items. Paper can be washed ,ground up, and made into new paper. Glass can be melted and made into new bottles. 65% of people recycle plastic bags. 71% of people also recycle steel and other scrap metals. Aluminum cans can be melted and made into new cans. Believe it or not, you can also recycle garden waste. 75% of people also recycle clothes and textiles. 51% of people recycle timber.
Instead of recycling, people also reuse. Reusing is keeping an item in use rather than wasting it. One lady used three old pots attached together to make one meal and use less electricity. You can use milk jugs for birdhouses instead of wood. Another lady used a worn out nylon wrap at the end of a broom to keep the bristles from breaking off. People reuse items for a purpose other than the original purpose. Most people give things away to someone who can reuse them. Families sell things and recoup the original cost while reusing. We can also reuse by buying a used item that also saves us money. With reusing, the item stays the same and doesn’t change.
In order to reduce landfill space and disposal costs, we must recycle. People are charged to pick up litter. Everybody should recycle as much as they can to help our environment. Saving the earth for future generations is why we must recycle.
Purpose: To find what type of paper recycles the best.
Hypothesis: I think that wax paper will recycle the best because on each side it has a waxy covering. I think the waxy sides will help a lot.
Materials: aluminum foil, scissors, pencil, wax paper, paper towel, and office paper, newspaper, a large jar with a lid, hot tap water, mixer, wooden spoon, 3 tablespoons of cornstarch, 1/2 cup of hot water, (if needed use blender to make the pulp), markers, crayons, and paints for decoration
Procedure: 1. Cut four pieces of aluminum foil and fold them over to form four 6-inch foil squares.
2. Punch holes with the pencil in each of the foil squares, about a half-inch apart and in vertical rows.
3. Next cut the paper into long thin strips and then cut or break them into smaller pieces. You’ll need about 1/2 packed cups of shredded paper.
4. Place the paper into the jar and fill it three-quarters full of hot tap water.
5. Screw on the lid and let the mixture sit from two to three hours, shaking it every once in a while and continuing to beat and stir the pieces with a mixer.
6. When the mixture is pasty and creamy pour it into the aluminum pan.
7. Add a bit more water, if needed.
8. Stir the mixture with the spoon again to be sure all the paper is broken up.
9. Now, dissolve three tablespoons of cornstarch into one half cup of water.
10. Pour the solution into the paper mixture and mix thoroughly.
11. Place the tray with the mixture flat and put a foil square on top of it.
12. With the palms of your hands, press the foil downward until the mixture covers it.
13. Bring the foil up and place it aside on the table.
14. Press it flat with your hands to squeeze away the water. Repeat the process, using the other foil squares.
15. Lay a few sheets of paper in a sunny location and let your foil-baked paper dry.
16. As the paper dries continue to press it down to squeeze out the water. While you are doing this, pinch together any holes you notice.
17. After two to three hours, carefully peel the paper from it’s aluminum baking and trim it neatly into a square note card.
18. Now, pull out your crayons or paints, your colored pencils, makers, or chalk and design a special, homemade recycled card for someone.
Conclusion: I found that newspaper recycles the best out of wax paper, paper towel, and office paper. I think that it worked the best because when rain gets on it it tears immmedently.
A Day at the Park
Once upon a time there was an artist named Louisa Delbricot. Louisa lived in Mayland. She had a customer who wanted a painting of a rollercoaster park. Louisa thought about a rollercoaster park. She thought the one in Mayland would do. So that day she took her paints, easel, and paper then set off.
When she got in sight of the rollercoaster park she put her stuff in a bag deciding that she would go on some rides before painting. First she went on the Ferris wheel. After she got off that she went on a couple of small rides. Later she went on the biggest rollercoaster ride. By this time she was becoming thirsty. “ The river ride will cool me down,” thought Louisa.
She found the swan boat she looked for a perfect seat. She got off the boat as soon as she reached the other side. She found bench and sat down. Louisa thought this was a perfect view of the rollercoaster park. She took out her paints and started painting the river and boat. She then painted all the rollercoaster rides including the Ferris wheel. Despite the sourcing sun the picture turned out perfect.
Louisa was so hot and thirsty. She took the boat ride back to the other side of the park. She frantically searched for a drink of water. But she couldn’t find a drinking fountain or anything that sold water. Louisa’s throat was drying up faster than she could blink. She found a million people but they said they just brought their own. Finally she found a worker who said they were out of water. Louisa needed a drink so bad. She finally took all her stuff and rushed to the car. When she got back to the studio she got two bottles of water and drank them both. Then she went to frame her painting for the next day. She found a perfect birch wood frame and placed it on. Louisa went upstairs to the kitchen and got supper. After that she went to bed.
The next day the costumer came and picked up the painting. “This is the most beautiful painting I’ve ever seen” she exclaimed. With that she left. Louisa learned a lesson that whenever you go to a park, always bring your water.
